no laugh track on this one

again, a quick fly-by here as i update the situation on the home and blog front: my house is now uninsurable because of the three sewage floods that have happened here in the past 4 years. three floods that have been cause by the guy who lives above me. the guy who still gets to live in my housing co-op, for some reason. the board here is slow to act and rather inept. what this boils down to is that i don't know if i will have a home here as of September 3rd and i might possible have to give notice on august 1st. i've lived in this co-op for almost 17 years and i have a less stable home than the jerk that has repeatedly flooded my home with shit. not logical? not fair? just? nope. and not very workable.

so yeah, i'm not going to be blogging for awhile. wish me luck...

Oh, dear, I sorry about this. Moving is difficult, especially when dealing with chronic health issues, and unfair in this situation--plus it's not been fair to have your life in upheaval from all the damage.

I'll be looking for updates as you can give them. If you have to move, I hope you find a place you absolutely love that can be your home for a long time, with peaceful and nondestructive neighbors.

Ah, $#*$! That is SOOO infuriating! Those co-op board folks are dolts, IMHO!

How horrible to think you might have to leave your home of 17 years because of one idiot. I know that residential tenancy is different because of co-ops, but is there any recourse to make them act or anything?

Aaagh, the injustice!! *shakes fist*

Good grief. I hope there is a positive side to all this that will come out. Maybe non-deadly carpet is in your future? However long it takes for you to be back to blogging, I will be looking forward to your return.

Oh that's outrageous! Is there anything any of us can do to help you get settled somewhere else? Any emailing you want done or anything like that?

Thanks, everyone. It's good to have friends. We are doing everything we can to push the Board of the Co-op to get this resolved in our favor. The insurance company has been great; in fact, they have treated us better than our Board has. The Head of the Canadian Company who provides insurance actually called a Board Member to tell them they had to deal with it. We didn't ask for help from higher up, but the insurance company is very compassionate. Go figure. If any readers are in Canada, I would recommend The Cooperator's Insurance any day.

Thanks for your offer of help, Gaina, that's very sweet. I can't think of anything, but it's so nice you asked.

I'll keep y'all posted.

I truly hope that you have a positive update for us sometime soon. I am sorry this past year has been so messed up by one person's negligence. I feel angry for you! I can't imagine what you are feeling. I really hope you are not in the process of moving right now or, if you are, that you have found something really great and will be rid of all these complications.

Take care of yourself.

could you sue the co-op board? i mean, its obviously not your fault and if the building catches on fire, the poo head above you will get a claim on his insurance but u cant?

So sorry about your housing troubles - bad enough to have to deal with a chronic illness, but add to that stress and housing issues! yuck. Hope some of it gets better for you soon.

we always know the major symptoms, as no one is free of suffering, remember that these cause chronic pain if not treated properly.

I understand your situation, and something similar happens to me, I have pain in his right knee and a chronic fibromyalgia and pain consitent give me time to time, and the doctor gave me Vicodin for pain control both cases, but warned me that This medication has side effects and take it as he tells me not to have problems, I hope that will help experts like me because I think I'm getting better but slowly.
